Subarus are designed with highly rigid bodies to minimize deformation of the cabin in event of a collision. More significantly, this means a safer drive for you and your loved ones. The new Legacy, which first appeared in 1998, uses the prototypical Ring-Shaped Reinforcement Frames as an ideal means of dispersing the impact of a collision therein providing greater protection for the occupants, should an accident occur.
ABS prevents wheel lock in the event of sudden braking, ensures the stability of the car's forward movement, and enhances steering control performance. Subaru's 4-Sensor/4-Channel ABS provides precise control for all road conditions. The system is a standard feature for Legacy and Outback.
In case of an accident, SRS Airbags, when used with seat belts, greatly reduce the impact on the passenger.
Dual air bags for the driver and the front passenger are standard for Legacy and Outback. They can be included as a standard or optional feature for Impreza and Forester. Moreover, front seat SRS side airbags are also available as an option for Legacy, Outback, and Forester. (Standard and optional features may vary according to the market.)
